Sustainability and resource efficiency are key elements of the corporate strategy at Eckart Hydraulics. The manufacturer of hydraulic rotary actuators is continuously aligning its processes to systematically lower energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions at the Schlüchtern-Wallroth site .

 

Key measures already implemented include:

 

Power supply: Since November 2021, the entire company has sourced its external electricity 100% from certified renewable energy sources (green electricity) .
In-house power generation: A photovoltaic system on the roofs of our production halls generates more than 130,000 kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity annually for our own consumption . Further expansion of these capacities is currently being planned.

Heating and lighting technology: Five warehouse and assembly halls as well as the administration building (covering a total area of approximately 6,500 square meters) are heated using highly efficient heat pumps. The entire lighting system has been fully converted to energy-saving LED technology.
Mobility and logistics: The company offers job-bike leasing options to its employees for their daily commute. In procurement, local and domestic suppliers are preferred in order to keep transport routes short and reduce logistics emissions.

To integrate these measures into daily operations, Eckart Hydraulics utilizes recognized management systems. The company is certified according to the environmental management standard DIN EN ISO 14001 and is preparing the introduction of a systematic energy management system according to DIN EN ISO 50001 . The goal is a continuous, data-driven improvement of our environmental performance across all departments.
